William Allan & Sons was founded in 1933 by William Allan who started out by delivering eggs on his motorbike and side car before diversifying into funeral cars and coach travel. His son, George Allan, became a partner in 1938, then went on to run the business on his father's retirement. His son William became a partner in 1970, taking over the reins on George's retirement.
In 1998 William decided to take early retirement to allow his son, David to take the company into the new millennium, when a whole new fleet of coaches and specialised computer systems were introduced.
The vehicles are constantly upgraded resulting in a very impressive, modern, state-of-the-art fleet of coaches that emit almost zero emissions making us one of the most environmentally friendly coach operators in the UK.
David Allan now runs the business with his wife Dawn in the office, and their daughter Shannon assisting part-time while training to become a professional dancer. Their son Warren works full-time within the company to gain the knowledge and experience to take Allan's into the 5th generation, and hoping to expand the existing workshop, MOT station and garage services.
